Seven years ago, Achieng left Kisumu with one suitcase and a place at medical school. Between night shifts at the library, long clinical rotations and a global pandemic landing in the middle of it all, she never once talked about quitting — though we suspect she thought about it every exam season.
On 4th December, she graduates as a Doctor of Medicine. She begins her internship at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in January — back home, which is exactly where she always said she'd end up.
Come celebrate with us. She earned every letter of that title.
Your support made the journey. If you’d like to celebrate the achievement with a gift, M-Pesa reaches them directly.
